Competency Management Incorporated is pleased to announce the development of the CMI Competency Valuator™, a tool that assesses basic work competencies. It is available as a paper-and-pencil test, or as an electronic test (via the internet or over your company's intranet). It is designed to be used in any industry and for most entry-level positions. The test contains two sections tapping will do and can do. The first section presents common work scenarios and asks the candidate what s/he would do in the given situation. This section is unique in its approach and its focus on actual work behaviors. The second section is made up of tests of various basic skills, such as practical mathematics and reading comprehension.
The CMI Competency Valuator™ makes testing job candidates simple. It is:
- •Easy to administer-none of the sections require timing or special materials; all you need is a test booklet, a pen or pencil, and a table for the candidate to sit at, or a computer for the electronic versions.
- •Easy to complete-it is written at a 4th grade reading level (except for some of the reading comprehension passages) and all answers are simply recorded on the included response sheet or electronic form.
- •Easy to score-depending on your preference, you can score the paper-and pencil test by: faxing or mailing the response sheet to CMI, or over a secure internet connection. Both scoring systems are easy to use and get the results back to you quickly. The electronic versions are automatically scored.
- •Easy to interpret-a one page summary report profiles the individual's performance across 14 competencies. Additionally, the profile report shows your own organization's range of high and low performers on each competency.
